We are saddened to share the passing of Brother Calvin Kenneth “Ken” Myers ’53, who entered the Chapter Grand on Aug. 25, 2025, at the age of 94.
A native of Lewistown, Pa., Ken was initiated into the Pennsylvania Theta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta in March 1951 and graduated from Penn State in 1953 with a degree in civil engineering. He served as president of the active chapter during his senior year, and was recognized as a Palladian Legionnaire, meaning he was a member of the fraternity for more than 55 years.
After Penn State, he went on to pursue a master’s degree in civil engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and entered the Officer’s Training Program with the United States Navy. He was commissioned as Ensign in USN Civil Engineering Corps and served for three years.
Ken spent most of his career leading the wastewater treatment division at Gannett Fleming Consulting Engineers before his retirement in 1994, and later moved from his estate in Hampden Township, Pa., to Bethany Village in 2016.
His obituary stated that Ken was “living independently, working out, driving and in good health until his AML diagnosis Aug. 9.”
A celebration of life will be held at The Rife Center at Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Circle, Mechanicsburg PA, on September 9, 2025 at 3 pm.
