We are thrilled to announce that, after much deliberation and collaboration, the General Council of Phi Delta Theta has officially reinstated the 29 Pennsylvania Theta brothers who appealed their deactivations. In addition, we are proud to share that the General Council has also agreed to formally recognize the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 classes (15 members) with their original bond numbers.
These decisions come as part of our ongoing efforts to rebuild and strengthen the legacy of Pennsylvania Theta. The brothers who were reinstated and recognized have long embodied the values of Phi Delta Theta, and their commitment to the fraternity has been unwavering, even in the face of past challenges. The reinstatement and recognition of these men marks a critical step forward in honoring the history and brotherhood that has defined Pennsylvania Theta for generations.
A Journey of Commitment and Brotherhood
The journey to this point has been a long one, filled with moments of reflection, healing, and renewed commitment to our shared values. These brothers, some of whom had been in limbo for over a decade, demonstrated the very principles that Phi Delta Theta instills in each of us: friendship, sound learning, and moral rectitude.
When our chapter experienced challenges during the late 2000s, these members were caught in the crossfire of circumstances both within and beyond their control. Despite those circumstances, they never stopped living the values of the fraternity, and their dedication has now been rightfully recognized by Phi Delta Theta International.
Looking to the Future
This decision not only honors Pennsylvania Theta’s deep and rich history, but also strengthens its future. The reinstated brothers, along with those now formally recognized from the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 classes, will now stand shoulder to shoulder with all Pennsylvania Theta alumni as fully recognized brothers of Phi Delta Theta. Their original bond numbers have been restored, reaffirming their place in our fraternity’s history.
As we look forward to the official reinstallation of our active chapter at Penn State this weekend, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome back these brothers into the fold. Their involvement will undoubtedly contribute to the momentum of Pennsylvania Theta as we continue building a strong foundation for future generations.
