The active chapter of Pennsylvania Theta is continuing to build momentum this semester, with strong recruitment numbers, meaningful philanthropic impact through THON and Iron Phi, and continued investment in the brotherhood’s home. The latest updates from the chapter reflect a group of young men who are growing the organization while living out the principles of Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude.
Recruitment Momentum Builds with 28 Phikeia

Recruitment continues to be a bright spot for the chapter this semester.
Following a strong rush period, the chapter currently has 28 Phikeia in the education process. When combined with seven newly initiated brothers, the brotherhood has grown by 33 members since the start of the Fall 2025 semester.
That means the current chapter roster remains above 100 active members!

The newest members are currently working through the Phikeia process while learning the history, traditions, and expectations that define Pennsylvania Theta. As they progress toward initiation, the chapter is already seeing promising leadership and engagement from the group.
For a chapter that only recently returned to campus, this kind of growth signals continued momentum and a strong foundation for the years ahead.
Chapter Raises $27,868 for THON, Advances Iron Phi Efforts

Philanthropy also took center stage this semester, highlighted by the chapter’s involvement in THON and its continued push to become an Iron Phi chapter.
Two brothers represented Pennsylvania Theta as THON dancers this year: Joe Aiello ’26 and Chris Hu ’27, who stood and danced for the full 46 hours in support of children and families battling pediatric cancer.
Partnering with the Penn State Lyrical Line, the chapter raised $27,868.59 for THON. Alumni support played an important role in that effort, helping the chapter contribute to one of Penn State’s most meaningful traditions.
At the same time, several brothers reached a significant milestone in the fraternity’s national philanthropic initiative, Iron Phi, which supports the fight against ALS. Kyle Berdy ’27, Jacob Brodecki ’26, and Coleton Geibel ’26 all achieved Iron Phi status this year, marking another step toward the chapter’s goal of becoming an official Iron Phi chapter.
Improvements Around the House
The brotherhood has also spent time improving the house and preparing for the warmer months ahead.
Leading up to rush week, brothers built two new dye tables, which will soon become a regular gathering spot when the weather improves in State College. For now, the tables have already found a temporary place inside the house as the chapter looks ahead to spending more time outside together later this semester.
Small projects like these may seem simple, but they are part of what turns “328” into our home! As the chapter continues to grow, so does the pride the brothers take in the space they share and the traditions they are beginning to establish there.
Blue-White Weekend is Coming Up Next!
We are still planning Blue-White weekend, but would like to invite all alumni to a brotherhood breakfast at the house. We’d love to host events with our alumni, so please make sure you are in the loop as more updates are to come regarding the Spring Game weekend! Blue and White weekend is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Taken together, these updates reflect a chapter that continues to move forward with energy and purpose. Recruitment is growing, philanthropy remains a priority, and the brotherhood is steadily putting its mark on the house and campus community.
For Pennsylvania Theta, it is another step in building something that will last for generations of Phis to come. Yet, we want to make sure we honor our past, as well. This semester and beyond, we are improving our efforts to engage alumni. Your learned experiences, career-path advice, and mentorship are extremely important to our active chapter, and we want to learn from you while also keeping you updated on our experiences.
If you ever wish to connect with members of our active chapter, offer internship/networking/career advice, or drop by a chapter meeting to speak about your professional journey, please let us know!
Thank you for your continued support of PA Theta.
