I came into my own through being a Phi Delt and living in the house. During that time period, I developed leadership skills that helped me earn a job with IBM. In addition, I developed many Life-Long friendships with many brothers. That common “Bond” we all share is just “AMAZING”. Like all of you, I’m “Proud to be a Phi”.

One special story for me: I met my future wife at the front door of the house during a “Beat Georgia” Tailgate with Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority on December 3, 1982. I was walking back from the Rathskeller bar after pounding a bunch of Rolling Rock Ponies. As I got closer to the House, I did a double-take- There was VW Bug on the front porch. Someone drove a Volkswagen Bug up on the front porch as part of the tailgate with the Thetas. Funny thing, back then I wore glasses, but I never wore them while socializing. So in addition to being light-headed from drinking, things were blurry from a distance… As I got closer, I could tell it was a VW Bug- What a Hoot!! That night was very special for me…
